Swatches of Spring into Fall

Today was a very productive day despite the uncomfortable heat.  I did some swatching, and worked on some prototypes.  Lately I've been gravitating away from glitter topcoats.  I think my polishes can have a more unique look when I use a colored base.

Here are 'Spring into Fall' and 'Secret Garden' without hearts.

Spring into Fall (2 coats + topcoat in artificial light)

Spring into Fall (2 coats + topcoat in natural light)

Secret Garden without hearts over pink + topcoat in natural light
Spring into Fall definitely needs topcoat.  I used one coat of Seche Vite in the photos and that was enough for me.

It may not be very noticeable, but I added some small snow white glitter to heartless Secret Garden .  I'll have both versions available in the shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Next restock: October 4

Hello!  I'm planning to re-open the Etsy shop on October 4th @ 5pm PST.  What's been slowing me down is I have a lot of empty round bottles and no brushes.  I had to discard many extremely bent/wonky brushes and find a supplier who sells the brushes individually.  If I don't get the brushes early next week, I will either push back the restock or start using the hexagonal (technically they're octagonal) bottles.

Here is the list of polishes I will have:
Asbestos
Girl With the Best Smile
Shadowplay
Raspberry Swirl
Rainforest
Sister's Day
Decorated
Sunset Glow
Bellatrix
Secret Garden
Secret Garden (heartless)
80's Deco
Over the Rainbow
Into the Wild
Spica *swirl*
Confetti
Hearts of the Forest
I'll Fly With You
Swimming With the Sharks
Androgynous
Snow Prince
We Only Come Out At Night (Halloween)
Spring into Fall (prototype from my last post)
Senescence (shimmery green from a couple posts down)

So many, hope I didn't forget anything.  I have one more bottle of Carbon Copy so I'll list that also.
About 85% of the poll results are favorable for Senescence, so I'm very happy to be able to offer it.

That being said, I did not keep track of all the pigments & measurements I used for Spring into Fall & Senescence.  If they are well received and I ever attempt to make another batch of either one, I don't know if it will look the same.  LOL.

Thank you for your interest!!!

Halloween polish & more

Firstly, thanks for all your feedback regarding the green polish I posted last week!

I'm still in the process of getting more bottles & brushes, so I won't be opening the shop again until next week or the week after.  I am also figuring out which labels will work best with a new bottle shape I'll be using.  They're  hexagonal, as you can see below.

That's a new color I'm working on (green again!!!):

prototype

Here is my humble & single contribution to all the awesome Halloween polishes that have been released the last couple of weeks by other indies:

L-R: 2 coats over red, 1 coat over red, 2 coats w/no basecoat
This is a mixture of copper shimmer & matte orange, red, and hot pink glitters in a black jelly base.  It's best worn as a topcoat, otherwise it will be quite sheer as you can see on my pinky finger.  I used a black base to tone down the brightness of the glitters.

I've added a poll! and Snow Prince revealed

I'm so excited! This has nothing to do with nail polish, but the blog itself...  I've wanted to add a poll for weeks and weeks, but the poll offered by Blogger kept giving me an error message.  I tried 2 free polls from external sites but those didn't work out either.  Then all the other free polls required I create an account, which is just another password to remember.  Well, I found a tutorial on how to create a poll using Google docs, and that's what you see to the left of this post!!! It's regarding the polish I swatched in the post previous to this one.

And here is a swatch of my first white jelly, Snow Prince!

Snow Prince, 3 coats
If you've read the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa, this polish was inspired by a specific character... Ash...

Something in the works

I'm not sure how I feel about this polish, it certainly reminds me of fall, but it's missing something... glitter!  I loooove glitter but decided to try something new since I've had the ingredients available for a while.  What do you think?!
